ITANAGAR, Jul 3: Hundreds of vehicles were stranded near Don Bosco College on Papu
Nallah-
The landslide occurred near Don Bosco College which completely blocked the movement of vehicles on either side of the road. Following breakdown of the National Highway, the Jully road is being used, but the road remains in a pathetic condition due to lack of maintenance.
Meanwhile, the UD Parliamentary Secretary cum local MLA Techi Kaso had to turn traffic warden following the landslide.

The District Disaster Management Authority has also issued a toll free number '1077', which is a 24 hours helpline number.
In case of any disaster, one can give a call in the number and the matter would be communicated to the concerned department after which prompt action would be taken, the DA informed in a release.
The DC stressed that despite best efforts from the District Administration, the rains have managed to cause few damages and requested the denizens of Capital Complex to take precautionary measures and to refrain from earth cutting or building houses at riversides and disaster prone areas.
The DC, officials of the Department of Disaster Management, PWD and Highway are also constantly monitoring the repairing work of the affected areas.
Meanwhile, even as the district administrations across the state make desperate attempts to clear road communications, some districts have reported adverse after effects.
Highlighting the hardships faced by the people of Silsango circle under Mengio administrative circle of Papum Pare district, Mengio ZPM Tarh Passang said that there was an acute shortage of ration items in Siladango area.
The ZPM said that Silsango circle remained cut off from the rest of the state due to road blockade since the last month, resulting in acute shortage of all essential commodities.
In spite of repeated pleas, the PWD did not clear the road for traffic movement citing fund crunch, he said, adding that the road from Yazali to Silsango and Sagalee to Silsango were totally damaged due to landslide caused by heavy rains.
The All Sagalee Employees' Forum (ASEF) and 15th Sagalee BJP Mondal President, Nabam Rebia also requested the state government to deploy men and machinery for immediate maintenance of roads and bridges that have been damaged or destroyed in the recent rainfall.
They also demanded relief and rehabilitation for the people that have lost their homes and agricultural fields, besides appealing to the Chief Minister for chopper services for the people of Sagalaee till the land route is cleared so that smooth communication is maintained, especially for people in need of immediate medical attention.
Further, the road to Yingkiong has been reopened for traffic after the Border Roads Organization (BRO) made efforts to clear the landslide that affected road communication for close to four hours at Km 95 on June 30 last.
According to reports, the landslide continued for two hours with complete hill face rolling down the slope and the formation of the road was breached for over 50 meters in length.

Crackdown on unregistered vehicles: Taram

ITANAGAR, Jul 3: Taking serious note on vehicles plying without registration numbers, Parliamentary Secretary Home, Pani Taram informed that the Police Department would soon come down hard on vehicles without registration plates and with tinted film glass.
The Parliamentary Secretary's statement came in the wake of the crimes reported over the last weekend involving vehicles without registration plates.
He further divulged that the respective Superintendents of Police in district headquarters have been instructed to act against unregistered vehicles, tempered number plates and tinted film and also on unauthorised registration plates, including blue plates, which are meant exclusively for various Embassy officials and not for common citizens.
"Vehicles plying without registration would be seized on the spot and will be released only after number plates are affixed" said Taram. He also appealed to the people to cooperate with the police authority to avoid any inconvenience.
He also stated that the objective of the drive is to check growing crimes involving unregistered vehicles. He also informed that this time around, no challan (penalty) would be issued to defaulters and vehicles would be released only after registration plates are affixed.
Release stipend on time, CM directs SJETA officials
ITANAGAR, July 3: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has directed the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs (SJETA) to draw a foolproof mechanism to avoid delay of releasing scholarship to tribal students.
The state government had released a total of Rs 28.50 crore from its own sources to the Department of SJETA on June 27 last for releasing the pending scholarship of the students in anticipation of funds to be received from the central government.
From the money sanctioned to the department, Rs 19.35 crore has already been released to the students in their respective accounts. The rest of the amount is being released simultaneously after following due procedures, informed the Chief Minister's Office in a release.

The department has said that money could not be disbursed to the students following delay by the centre. But now the department has received the scholarship amount from the centre and has gradually started the process of disbursement of the scholarship.
The Union has appealed to the department to make sure that the scholarship is released on time.
DRDA employees to relaunch state wide agitation

Expressing displeasure at the state government, the employees' association informed that it had launched a state wide agitation on February 20 last,

ITANAGAR, Jul 3: Parliamentary Secretary for Environment & Forests, Chow Tewa Mein appealed to all to plant more trees to replenish the depleting greenery for a better environment.
Mein was addressing a function organized by the Department of Environment & Forests at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Nirjuli on Monday to mark the 68th Van Mahotsava celebrations.

MIT inspects packing, distillery & beverage units
ITANAGAR, Jul 3: A Mobile Inspection Team (MIT) of the Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs inspected packing units, distilleries and beverages around the Capital Complex.
The inspection was carried out to check net content of packaged commodities, especially drinking water and beverages being packed in the Capital Township, which includes M/s NEFA Breweries Pvt Ltd, M/s Polo International and M/s Renu Beverages.
Packing norms and net content adopted by M/s NEFA Breweries Pvt Ltd and M/s Renu Beverages were found satisfactory, while filling procedure adopted by M/s Polo International requires some technical modification, for which necessary directives had been made, informed Controller (LM) and Director (Consumer Affairs) Hoktum Ori.
It is also observed that M/s Renu Beverages and by M/s Polo International have already obtained packer license from the department, which is a mandatory requirement for functioning of packaging unit. M/s NEFA Breweries Pvt Ltd has already applied for issue of the packing license which is under consideration.
Parliamentary Secretary for Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, Laisam Simai, who also joined the officers, appealed to the youths and business community to establish more such industries throughout the state, which would not only boost the trade and commerce industries but also generate considerable employment in this developing state.

CDFC starts Sopu Twnwng competition
ZIRO, Jul 3: The Central Dree Festival Committee (CDFC) on Monday for the first time has introduced and organized traditional Sopu Twnwng competition at the Dree Ground in Ziro.

is traditionally used in decoration and other religious activities of Apatanis. The

Furniture and computer for Namsai schools
NAMSAI, Jul 3: Parliamentary Secretary Planning, Chau Zingnu Namchoom distributed 800 pairs of desk and benches to all schools of Namsai Assembly Constituency under SIDF scheme.

However, after his tragic helicopter crash on 5th May, 2001, the government forgot its promise.
Referring to various other points in favour of their demand, the organizations stated that the adoption of Tani Lipi as indigenous script and its introduction in the school curriculum of the state will help in promoting and preserving the tribal languages, which are on the verge of extinction, besides promoting communal harmony among the people of different tribes.

ROING, Jul 3: Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Dipak Shinde inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra (store of generic medicines) at District Hospital Roing on July 3 in presence of the DMO and medical staff.

NAHARLAGUN, Jul 3: Door to door awareness campaign on Women Help Line (WHL) was conducted at Sood village and Prem Nagar in Naharlagun by the Arunachal WHL on Monday.

Forum seeks cancellation of land allotment of Deoris
ITANAGAR, Jul 3: The All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Forum reiterated its demand of immediate eviction and cancellation of land allotment allotted to the Deori tribe residing in Arunachal.
The Forum claimed that according to the Supreme Court rule, land in Arunachal cannot be allotted to the Deori tribe as the tribe is not listed as APST.

PWD messes up capital complex
The Barapani Bridge on Pachin River is in precarious situation. The bridge is reportedly
sinking due to swelling of Pachin River and is posing serious threat. It is the lone
bridge connecting the twin town of Itanagar and Naharlagun. If anything goes wrong,
Itanagar will be cut be off and commuters will be have to take Yupia-
Everyone including PWD is aware of the fact that Barapani Bridge is weakening with
each passing year and if timely repairing is not done it might collapse. But department
never initiated any effort to repair the said bridge. Also there should be atleast
two more bridges over Pachin River to connect Itanagar and Naharlagun. Govt has been
talking about construction of steel bridge to connect Borum and Naharlagun, while
another bridge has been planned to connect Lekhi and Yupia. So far these projects
have only been reflected in media and nothing has moved at ground level. Also it
is very strange that PWD failed to repair and renovate Itanagar-

As the topic regarding “Enhancement of Retirement Age of Govt. Employees from 58 to 60” becomes hot issue today and our Hon'ble CM and State BJP party president saying enhanced retirement age won't affect unemployed youths, I being an unemployed youth of the state since six years would like to share my ups and down in life till date.
I have been hearing about the financial scarcity of the state from people since a long time. In the year 2011, I was placed under wait list No. II for the post of lower Division Clerk under the department of Education. I ran door to door and begged before higher authority many a times but what I got from them was “due to financial scarcity in the state even a post is impossible to create”. Eventually its validity expired and I had lost my chance.
I did my degree in commerce from DNG in 2011, but since the past 15 years, I have never ever seen or heard of new post creation for the post of accountant. And when questioned, answer was always state’s financial condition.
And then I had to change my stream and took physical education as my subject keeping in mind that it would give me job opportunity.
After completion of masters in Physical Education from BHU (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh in 2016, I along with my friends started a movement for creation of PET(Physical Education Teacher) under Education Department and for the post of DSO(Dist. Sport Officer), ASO (Astt. Sports Officer) and Coaches under Dept of Sports and Youth Affairs as there has no post creation since 15 years. Initially responses from Director Sec. Education, Secretary Education and Director Sports and Youth Affairs were very positive and they assured for creation of posts by Dec’2016.
But when enquired about the matter during April 2017, we again had to hear the same explanation;“due to state’s financial crisis and non approval by cabinet, it is not possible to create the posts”.
And Hon'ble CM says that his Govt will create more job opportunity.
Furthermore, I would like to add that months ago department of Education conducted exams for the post of teachers where I was placed under wait list No. 1 for the post of PET. But again there seems to be no hope due to unavailable vacant post and creation of PET post is a dream that doesn’t come true because of financial crisis.
Therefore, to sum up, by keeping in mind the statement made by our Hon’ble CM regarding the creation of job opportunity, I would like to request him to create more job opportunity within December 2017 in different departments, especially upon the Department of Sports and youth Affairs as there has been no post creation since 15 years and we the physical education degree holders are sitting idle.
I also request the department of education to enhance the recruitment age limit to 35 yrs.
Lastly, I appeal to the Hon’ble CM to extend one time relaxation for all wait listed candidates under department of education.

A wake up call for the youth
Dear Editor,
Of late, there has been an increase in the number of incidents involving murder,
physical altercations and road accidents in which a handful of young lives have been
lost. It’s indeed pretty frightening how even the least significant of reasons had
driven the concerned individuals into committing gravely evil deeds. Going by the
reports floating around, it is safe to assume that most of the cases were led by
motives of sudden rage under possible intoxication resulting in actions which were
abrupt rather than pre-
Being a member of the youth myself, I must admit that there exists a contagious imbalance
in the mindset of the young males in the state. For every glass of beer, they do
not keep a separate space for a chapter in a book, instead only for another glass.
In other words, our sense of judgement regarding work and fun is hugely distorted
and is heavily tilted towards the extremities of fun. We lavishly ‘indulge’ in pleasuring
our different modes of sensation to a point that makes us unwise, ill-

Through your esteem daily, I would like to draw your kind attention that the state
government has made Aadhar card as mandatory in the schools, and the same Xerox copy
should be submitted to the concern School during the time of admission. Now-
I would like to appeal to the concern authority to deploy a trained operator with equipment at Yingkiong to carry out Aadhar Card enrolment to solve the hardship being faced by the public and students.
